In the heart of eastern Tuscany,
just above Florence, there is an area where the green of the woods,
olive and cypress trees frames a landscape studded with things of
beauty that are more than a thousand years old, villages, towers,
and ancient parish churches. The vineyards of DOCG Rufína Chianti
and DOC Pomino Chianti are hidden on the slopes of its downward-sloping
hills these two wines have completely different personalities, but
both share in a reputation that has extended down through the centuries.
It is from these two priceless gifts of nature that the Road of the
Rufína and Pomino Chianti Wines takes its name. The route is a charming
journey abounding in attractions. It travels amid tastes of art and
culture, winding its way past the villas and castles of noble Florentine
families and extending over the territory of five Communes Pontassieve,
Pelago, Rufína, Londa and Dicomano.
The wine, which can be tasted during visits to the numerous wine cellars,
becomes the main protagonist of the entire itinerary; in a journey
that provides several pleasant surprises. You are invited to enjoy
the "Strada dei Vini Cbianti Rufína e Pomino" and its treasures of
art, history, nature and relaxation. An intense journey of life in
all of its extraordinary expressions.
